This isn't one of the MZ's in Mark's possession that we need to dispose of. It was however owned by Mark and it has been restored since by its current owner Alasdhair. I am slightly straying off the objective of this blog but it is such a nice example I had to post it. Prior to selling it to Alasdhair, does anyone know the history of this one? I have lost track as there is one in bits in the cellar, there is the one that had the crackled paintwork effect that I thing Woody now owns. I don't know where this one fits into Mark's history of MZ ownership.

The Rest of the Panther
Here are the rest of the parts after a concerted effort to find them all in the cellar. Probably no explanation needed if you are a fan on Panthers. In no particular order then:

More Panther pictures to come
There was an expedition to the cellar last night and most of the remaining Panther parts were found, Gearbox, Primary Chain Cover, Hubs, Rear Sprockets etc. Pictures were taken and these will be posted shortly.
In the mean time I have improved the blog with a search tool that can search on this site and also on linked sites. I have added the linked sites at the bottom of each page. I particularly want to visit the DDR Motorcycle Museum in Berlin as there are some great examples of MZ, IWL, Simson and EMW's in there.

More Panther Pictures
On account of this now being the most popular viewed bike on the blog despite being a pile of bits here are some more pictures.

One for the POC
This pile of bits below is a Panther. Other than being a 1950's big sloper built in Cleckheaton I know little about it. Mark has re-sprayed most of it, had the engine re-built and bought new wheel rims ready to be spoked up.
A Close up of the Engine
I am hoping the folk at the POC can help me identify model.

The Black Berlin is towed away.
We arrived at Mark's to see the Black Berlin on the back of Neil's trailer.
This is Mark's second IWL Berlin. He bought the first one of eBay as a project to do up. This is the blue one below. Unfortunately it was a bit too much of a project. Restoration was impossible without changing important items like the engine.
Soon after purchase the Black Berlin was registered in this country, taxed, MOT'd, insured and on the road. Great with my Troll, his Troll on the road and his Berlin we needed to organise a run out. Unfortunately not too be. During that week someone broke into his shed and stole the Berlin. When they failed to get it running they vandalised it. Mark got the call from the police to come and pick it up. Mark never touched it again except for moving it about. He did have a good collection of spare parts to rebuild it and these have gone off with the new owner.

The BK350 Leaves the Mill.
Last morning I went up to the mill today to meet up with Alasdhair Marshall so he could tow away the BK 350. He his wife Jacky and there young bairn turned up. With help from the Landlord Robin we pushed it out into the sunlight and onto the trailer. Here are some pictures from that event.
A close of how gently corroded this bike is.

We then left for the cellar to pick up the good frame for the BK.

The TS Four Speed project.
This is a MZ TS 250 4 speed retrieved from the garage in Gomersall. many of the parts have been powder coated and it is in a state of reconstruction. Unfortunately the garage was damp and the Aluminium has gone a bit furry. I am expecting that we will find the rest of the bits in the cellar.

The Trophy Sport
This is Mark's Trophy Sport it was one of his favourites. He has another one as a project (a collection of re-sprayed bits) but bought this one as he couldn't wait. He did a lot of miles on this one with trips to the Lake District and to Wales. He was on this at the MZRC AGM at Porlock. He had come via Wales and went back via Bristol. It has been a reliable runner for him. It has a 12V convertion using the Vapee system (Spelling probably not quite right) bought from MZB. Last winter we stripped down the front end. It is in very good condition.

A Winter's Diversion
Mark was a regular contributor to the Real Classic magazine. His BM outfit featured on their web site recently. This was taken on one of his winter excursions when he went out looking for snow.
